Everette McIlwain

Branch President

Everette McIlwain is the Branch President of Local 305 Washington D.C. Region, where he represents over 200 Mail Handlers. He is responsible for overseeing the Mail Handlers working at the JCTM/Brentwood facility, in addition to six other outside states inside of the JCTM/Brentwood facility that employ Mail Handlers who he also represents, Main Office, Chillum, Columbia Heights, River Terrace, and Zone 2002.

Everette became a Union Representative in 2014, when he started as an alternate steward, then became Branch President in 2018. Everette's responsibilities as Branch President include, but are not limited to making sure grievances are filed timely, keeping the Union board up to date with the most current information affecting the Mail Handler craft, and making sure each and every Mail Handler in Washington D.C. is treated fairly and respectfully.

As a Union Representative, Everette firmly believes in respect, integrity, honestly, and loyalty. Every member should know that he has their back 100% and will fight tooth and nail to protect Mail Handler jobs.

Demetria Spratley

D.C. Representative

Demetria "Mickey" Spratley is the State Representative for the District of Columbia, where she performs such duties as assigned by the Local President for the federal district. Mickey has worked for the Postal Service for 32 years and has been a union member for 30 years.

Mickey became a Union Representative approximately 21 years ago and during those years has served the local in a number of capacities, as a Shop Steward, a Chief Steward, Judge of Elections, an MHBP Representative and while currently serving as the State Representative of D.C., she also serves as Local 305's coordinator for the Mail Handler Benefit Plan (MHBP).

Mickey strongly believes in being a Union member and as a representative for those members it is imperative for someone to advocate for employee rights and protection from unfair treatment; to improve working conditions, wages, and to ensure a safe working environment.
