2025 Contract Update #3
Catch up on the third Contract Update produced and distributed by the NPMHU during the course of 2025 negotiations. These updates, along with the Union’s magazine and monthly bulletins, will keep mail handlers throughout the country informed and involved in the issues raised during this round of bargaining.

National Arbitration Decision
The NPMHU are extremely pleased to announce that the NPMHU has prevailed in its national arbitration against the Postal Service over the ability of the Postal Service to separate employees who have completed their probationary period based on the results of a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) background check without providing those employees with access to the grievance and arbitration process. A complete copy of the award is attached.

Contract Update #2
On July 8 and 10 of 2025, representatives from the NPMHU Negotiations Team and the U.S. Postal Service (USPS) met for the second and third sessions of main table bargaining at NPMHU Headquarters in the AFL-CIO building and the USPS Headquarters (Washington, DC). Both groups returned to the bargaining table hoping to continue the spirit of positive cooperation that had been established in the first session.

Quarterly MHU Summer 2025
Negotiations between the NPMHU and the Postal Service over the terms of the 2025 National Agreement are in full swing in Washington, D.C. The NPMHU Negotiations Team has already met with USPS officials for several Main Table bargaining sessions. National President Paul Hogrogian, with assistance from the Contract Administration Department (CAD) and the General Counsel’s Office, has presented USPS with sixty-nine non-economic proposals thus far for amending the terms of the National Agreement.
