The Richmond P&DC Branch of Local 305 proudly serves Mail Handlers across central Virginia.

Shawn Wyche

Branch President

Shawn Wyche is the Branch President of the Richmond Regional Processing and Distribution Center (RPDC) and the Richmond Sorting and Distribution Center (S&DC) where he represents approximately 541 Full-Time Regular Mail Handlers and 95 Handlers Assistants.

Shawn has been employed with the Postal Service since 1995 and has been a Union member for 28 years. As Branch President, Shawn's duties include but are not limited to ensuring grievances are filed on all violations occurring in his facilities, promoting a safe working environment, managing the Richmond Union office and its stewards, and holding Management accountable by attending all Labor-Management and Safety Meetings.

It is Shawn's belief that the Mail Handler Union builds power for the craft. As a member, speaking up together enables negotiations for higher wages and improvement of conditions in the facilities.

Marvin Simpson

Virginia State Representative

Marvin Simpson is the State Representative of Virginia for Local 305, where he performs such duties as assigned by the Local President for the state of Virginia. Marvin has worked for the Postal Service for approximately 29 years and has been a Mail Handler Union member for 27 years.

Marvin became a Union Representative approximately 15 years ago and during those years he has served the local in a number of capacities, Shop Steward, Judge of Elections, Branch President, and currently is an Arbitration Advocate, Contract Attack Team Member, Local 305 Trainer, and a member of the Local 305 Task Force.

Marvin believes that overall, the Union's purpose is to help people, assist them at their most vulnerable moments. Without a Union, employees would not be treated fairly and with equality.
