Lori Freeman
Branch President
Lori Freeman is the Branch President of the Network Distribution Center (NDC), the General Mail Facility (GMF), and CBF in Capitol Heights, Maryland where she represents over 500 Mail Handlers, 240 are union members, and the membership is still growing.
Lori has worked for the Postal Service for over 30 years and has been a union member since the day she signed up at her orientation. She has represented the Mail handler craft for over 15 years, where she served as a Shop Steward and Chief Steward before being elected Branch President. Some of her responsibilities include but are not limited to acting as the gatekeeper for her facility, which proves to be a difficult task at times, while also policing the National Agreement and giving 100% attention to all Mail Handler members' issues.
Lori believes she found her passion as a shop steward and firmly believes that the Union is there to support the members and their grievances regardless of how big or small. She finds that effective communication is essential and being trustworthy, credible, and encouraging go a long way in showing that that Union is always there for its members.
