Not long ago, USPS management announced plans to involuntarily reassign thousands of Full-Time Regular Mail Handlers out of their current installations. They targeted 82 facilities, potentially impacting over 2,200 of our members. Imagine the fear, the disruption to families, the thought of being uprooted from your community. But the Mail Handlers Union didn't stand by. Our National, Regional, and Local Union representatives sprang into action. They fought back, challenging these unwarranted attacks on our members. And you know what? Through their tireless efforts, they drastically reduced the number of impacted installations from 82 down to just 21, and the number of potentially affected Mail Handlers from over 2,200 down to 495. That's nearly 1,700 mail handlers whose lives weren't turned upside down, whose jobs were saved in their home communities, all because the union stood strong and fought for them.
