Victor "Cody" West
Branch President
Victor "Cody" West is the Branch President of the Raleigh Processing and Distribution Center (P&DC) in North Carolina where he represents approximately 300 Mail Handlers, 200 of them are Union members.
Cody has been a Union member since his very first day of employment upon returning to the Postal Service in 2019 after serving in the Armed Forces. As Branch President his responsibilities include but are not limited to overseeing the general operations of the Mail Handler Union office at the Raleigh P&DC, enforcing the Collective Bargaining Agreement, and negotiating with Management to ensure a safe and fair work environment for all Mail Handlers. He also leads quarterly meetings and ensures that the stewards have the training and resources they need to effectively represent the members.
Cody firmly believes that the Union is the single most powerful tool the members have to ensure they are treated with dignity and respect on the job. An individual voice can be easily ignored but collective voices are a force that Management cannot dismiss. "An injury to one is an injury to all." Every grievance filed, every right defended, and every benefit secured strengthens the foundation for not just this generation of Mail Handlers but the next. Cody also believes that the Union is a commitment to one another an he is dedicated to upholding that commitment every single day.
