Marcus Anderson
Recording Secretary
Marcus Anderson is the Recording Secretary for Local 305. He is responsible for taking the minutes for all meetings of the Executive Board and Council. He also maintains and provides these minutes as part of the records for the local. Marcus has worked for the Postal Service for almost 24 years and has been a member of the Mail Handler Union for 22 years when he transferred to the Mail Handler craft.
Marcus has been a Union Representative for 21 years, during that time he has served the Union as a Shop Steward and Branch President. Besides currently serving as the Recording Secretary, Marcus is an Arbitration Advocate, a member of Local 305's Contract Attack Team, a member of the Local 305 Task Force, and a trainer for new Shop Stewards.
Marcus firmly believes that the Mail Handler Union is a crucial element in the success of not just the Mail Handler craft, but the Postal service itself. Having a strong Union protects jobs and creates better work environments, salaries, and benefits for employees. He also believes that our Union fights hard to keep the Mail Handler craft a highly desirable occupation for those seeking employment. It is this effort which allows the Postal Service to keep reliable and hardworking people to serve the public, and protect one of the most vital parts of our Nation since its establishment in 1775.
